Construction has commenced at the new Biggera Waters Harbourside Market development at 610 Oxley Drive.  The $20m commercial project is will comprise 13 tenancies and is being billed as “a sophisticated version of the traditional European marketplace”.  It is slated to open later this year.

Following the success of Southport’s Ferry Road markets, a number of other developers are attempting to recreate the concept elsewhere on the Gold Coast.  Said to be inspiration for a waterside commercial precinct at Nifsan’s Emerald Lakes, as well as the future of the Marina precinct at Sunland’s Royal Pines, both developers may be beaten to the punch by Essence Property Group’s Harbourside Market.

The $20m commercial development in Biggera Waters – opposite Harbour Town Shopping Centre are taking their cues from their Southport forerunner, and the site will include around 1,400 sqm of lettable space for over a dozen tenancies.  Work has just commenced, and the project should be online by Christmas this year.
